YOICHIRO KAWAGUCHI (b. 1952) is a Japanese computer graphics artist, professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo and chairman of the Digital Content Association. He rose to international prominence when he presented “Growth Model” in the international conference SIGGRAPH. His work has a faithful following throughout Japan. He would be showing "Growth: Xenion" from 2003. The work embodies the magnificent cosmic time and space of an algorithmic Growth Model based on programming. Delicate cell movements provide energy for major changes in the overall shape. Detailed micro-power transforms the intricately intersecting overall shape into a powerful living entity. Professor Kawaguchi hopes to awaken the horizon of synesthesia art that is full of the sense of reality of delicate and dynamic transformation!
